「How to fix the large uptick in far-right/right wing populism」

anonopen
pic.png
Pic related, but also if you were to look at recent polling (especially out of South Korea), you can see a gender divide where younger men seem to be more attracted to far right/right wing populist parties.
While stories as extreme as picrel aren't terribly common, whenever anyone brings this problem up, the answers are almost always censorship or "they need to be raised better."
Maybe that will work with children, but as the polling shows, many adults are like this too, and all censorship will do for them is make them feel even more vindicated.
Thoughts on this?

>to some extent
to very little extent, most people choose a party that they dont agree on 95% of things with because the alternative is a party they dont agree on 96% of things with, not really a good representation of society at all

Cost of raising people is more than early screening and testing. It also stabilizes the system.

「Feeling really jaded from politics.」

anonopen
Like why do people just put up with a system that produces such objectively bad results. We are given such a bad choice of candidates and parties… in America there is the two party system, whats going to happen when it becomes a one party system? Things always get split if theres more.
Its like no one really fucking knows whats going on- in politics, in their community, in their lives, theres a special kind of apathy and ignorance. And some if those people still vote. And thats the only way they will ever engage with politics.
anon
there doesn’t seem to be a realistic way out, things are good enough, people done care enough about others, and you might get attacked and lose a lot and be hated for trying

anyway china will win musk will burn up like a rocket trump is barely on the map uh

I'm going too fast to raed it but I read the one cuteness paragraph and it looks interesting and I'm glad u pointed out that it doesn't quite fit into life. I really hate how things which make me feel often don't seem livable.

if all the feds have on him is "you didn't prevent criminals using your app to do illegal things", what the hell is he supposed to have done?
there are plenty of foss apps that use genuine end2end encryption where outsiders absolutely positively cannot know what you're sending, are all of those developers gonna get arrested too?
i think there rly should be some middle ground between illegal-activity-heaven and big-brother-police-state but if the solution is to just build backdoors that only "the good guys" can get into, it feels like a waste
