This is kind of on a whim, but i've been catching some more episodes of hot bench and judge judy, and on that i've also been catching some more holiday advertisements from the Union Gospel Mission and the Salvation Army non profit groups. I get stuck of course though when thinking of like, any of the numerous anti lgbt tumbled stumbles and shittery the two organizations have gone through.
The abuse of using their position and reputation as non profit charities to push out discriminatory views on those reliant in them is gross. And then secular non profits get the short end if the stick because they have less support; not to mention government funded housing or food services.

There's something sketchy about saying improving your community should only happen through powerful groups who U have to join, but there's also something sketchy about not fighting for your own group because other groups attacking you feels bad

when I was a teenager I joined the Salvation Army bell ringers for the volunteering club at my school and felt all badass saying ‘merry christmas BING BING BING’ heh heh heh and the cool teacher at my school with long hair walked up and was like oh huh I see and walked away and later she transitioned and I feel kinda bad about it but she probably avoids me not because of that but because I’m a weird failure guy who mentions trans things in every conversation and is emotionally unstable and has only dated trans women and I hope she’s happy but also I’m probably only thinking about her because she’s trans, but she’s a good person I shouldn’t have done that.

should government safety nets accept donations so left wing people have somewhere to donate to? probably charities of a certain size should be regulated to not be allowed to be religious or something like that so prevent domination of society
