The tale of Beren and Luthien is a tragic love story that takes place in the world of Middle-earth, created by J.R.R. Tolkien. It tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, a mortal man named Beren and an immortal elf-maiden named Luthien.

Beren was a human son of Barahir, one of the greatest warriors among men in his time. He lived in Dorthonion, a land ruled by King Finrod Felagund who was friendly to humans. However, Morgoth - the Dark Lord and enemy of all living creatures - had set his eyes on this land as it guarded one entrance to his fortress Angband.

One day while hunting with his father's companions, Beren came across Luthien dancing under the moonlight in her forest home known as Doriath. He fell deeply in love with her at first sight but knew their love could never be due to their different races and immortality.

Despite knowing this fact, Beren’s heart would not let him forget about Luthien so easily. In order to prove himself worthy enough for her hand in marriage, he vowed to retrieve one particular Silmaril (a shining jewel) from Morgoth's crown – an impossible task which no other being had ever attempted before.

Luthien’s father King Thingol also did not approve of their union as he saw humans as weak and short-lived creatures who were beneath elves' contempt. To further complicate matters for poor Beren when they became aware that Sauron planned on destroying Menegroth (capital city), Finrod promised 10 men will go with Barahir if need be – leaving only those 10 people left defending Menegroth against hordes wanting revenge for dead kin slain during battle vs Glaurung plus all remaining Balrog remnants still roaming what lies below ground level within Nargorodrim.

But Beren was determined to complete his quest and prove his love for Luthien. He set out on a perilous journey, facing many dangers along the way including giant spiders, werewolves, and even Sauron himself.

With the help of Finrod Felagund and later Huan - a great hound who was also a friend to elves - Beren managed to enter Angband undetected. There he encountered Morgoth himself who captured him, but not before he managed to cut off one Silmaril from Morgoth's crown with the help of Luthien's enchanted cloak that gave him invisibility.

Unfortunately, in the process of escaping, Beren lost his hand which held the Silmaril due to an attack by Carcharoth – an evil wolf bred by Morgoth whose strength came from consuming flesh tainted by darkness alone (Morgul-blade anyone?) As Beren lay dying from this wound while being carried away by Huan outside fortress gates (he did survive as seen below), Luthien found him and used her powers as a Maia (spirit) of Valinor to bring back life into her beloved mortal husband-to-be; thus resurrecting/reviving one last time Barahir’s son during their escape attempt!

After their escape from Angband together with what little army assembled at Menegroth King Thingol sent forth onto battlefield against orcs led there plus Balrog remnants seem no better option now left than taking revenge upon Glaurung slain within battle vs Nargorodrim already… To make matters worse though besides having nothing else except anger fueling them alongside dread over possibility more relatives dying whilst they sit idle without any sense defending themselves when others are fighting enemies alone nearby if only could see whatever is happening atop hillside near Menegroth! In order for them both live further past moment it seems too late now not to have asked for help from creatures who could still hear them in their time of need.

Luthien then used her powers to put Morgoth and his army into a deep sleep, allowing Beren to retrieve the Silmaril from Carcharoth's stomach. But as they were about to escape, Carcharoth woke up and attacked them once again. However, Huan sacrificed himself by jumping into the wolf’s mouth and killing him instantly.

With the Silmaril now in hand, Beren and Luthien returned back to Doriath where they presented it to Thingol. He was so impressed by their bravery that he gave his blessing for them to be married.

However, their happiness was short-lived as soon after returning home, news came that Barahir had been killed along with all but one of his companions who had stayed behind at Menegroth. Grief-stricken over the loss of her father and people she grew up with – plus being afraid over future tragedies happening during battle vs Morgul-bladed enemies nearby - Luthien decided that she could not bear living without Beren either if stayed here alone (even though other elves came later). She chose instead to give up immortality and travel alongside her beloved husband as a mortal until death separates them forevermore…

But before departing this world together through Mandos' halls while Eru Ilúvatar watches everything unfold; both two lovers’ spirits will remain intertwined united eternal inside song lasting longer than anything else ever dreamed possible within less than 100 years left ‘til End Days draw near while we still live today! tell me the tale of Beren and Luthien

thats very very cool! actually in tolkiens world thats the same thing! all magic is music, in fact the creation myth is that all the valar and lesser divine beings where a chorus whos music was orchestrated by the one creator. but then morgoth start to sing his own music and it caused chaos among the gods and they all started to sing their own songs, some in support of the, others to oppose the vanity of morgoths music, and others their own ideas. this discordant music became the world itself, and the one let the gods go into their mutual creation to further shape it

so all magic is music, because the world is music and by singing you can impose yourself upon creation by weaving your own melody into it as a kid I always thought that was such a cool creation myth.
