China was like "we need high speed rail. 10 gazillion dollars to fund high speed rail" and 10 years later every major city is connected and they are still expanding it every day

America says "we need high speed rail" and then the next governor opposes it because his car manufacturing donors say so, so he stalls the project, and then the mext governor tries to continue but only gets so far and then the next one stalls it and cuts it again, over and over and over, and in the same 10 year span we have like half a high speed rail track between 2 cities in california and nowhere else. and the next governor uses this as an excuse to say why building high speed rail is bad
