its definitely better than before. i think it should prob try to target some of the special post colors too like greentext and the post numbers and stuff and apply all the same legibility stuff between those and the main post bg but that would be a lot of work

something i will sleep on

why didn't you diffuse the nuclear bombing ones huh
>>16027
anon
oh actually its not bad
anon
i think the basic color distance thing is actually doing a lot of legwork i think maybe another bandaid solution on brightness will make it good enough for gubmint work
anon
i really dont want to learn the complicated fuckin math for perceptual color difference
anon
it only needs a few pixels of black and the way its set up it tries to grab the most different colors possible so it will almost always grab outlier colors like a spot of black on a bright image or vice versa
>>16049

anon
yeah thats the problem i keep running into
anon
oof
anon

>>16059
anon
so far the solution is to gather the colorset (which we dont have much control over its someone elses code) and then calculate RGB linear color distance between each pair and then assign the highest difference pair to post body and post text respectively
>>16065
bluebber
>>16057
YEAH AND YOU HAVE TO SEND ME $1000 USD IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM

but unfortunately human eyes are not robit eyes and color distance ≠ perceived difference in color

but who are you how do you know how this code works
>>16071
anon
and theres math that smart people have done to compensate for that but i dont want to learn the math
anon
shit now i want to rewatch all the spider man movies
anon
so im trying to figure out caveman ooga booga solutions
anon
i think maybe we could do some post processing on the two selected colors and like lighten the lighter one darken the darker one? and maybe increase saturation to compensate and keep them feeling like colorful and influenced by the original?
>>16073
anon
idk
anon
>>16069
could pick the darkest colour as the text, and lightest colour (or one of the lightest ones) as post background text
>>16075
anon
>>16073
thats pretty much what it tries to do right now but its a human eye perception thing. absolute RGB brightness does not equal a color looking "bright"
anon
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yea tru.

anon
november
anon
well right now its on color distance actually, you are right brightness should be factored as well. but im pretty sure a sole brightness check will basically always give you a black and a light tan or a white
>>16093
anon
which is a bit boring
anon
its better than it was before though. before it would give you something totally unreadable 2 out of 3 times
bluebber
okay i'm going back now

anon
>>16080
but yeah like in effect this is usally just choosing the closest pair to (#FFFFFF) and (#000000) so im no sure the brightness thing will even change a ton
anon
it definitely doesnt sometimes tho, hard time imagining whats going on here and how that muddy orange can be farther from black than the pale blue
>>16100
anon
should be grabbing the site background here and using it as the text probably
anon
and making the background the orange instead
anon
#cleartheme
anon
>>16096
it seems like a harder problem to solve than just pick x colour.... i guess just gotta fuck around a lot and see what looks nice
>>16104
anon
diffuse being a little silly is cool though, it can always be cleared by anyone
>>16103
anon
>>16102
yeah agree im kinda just working on it cause i think it's a fun problem lol
anon
>>16100
yeah, the grabbing of the colors itself is really complicated and finnicky too
anon
but that's not our code it's some library
anon
it loves making the background blindingly white
anon
yeah fr
anon
i think i want to set it up so it weights for certain colors for certain elements
anon
definitely sounds like a good way of doing it
knowing that you want x elements to have this band of colour, or something like that
anon
colour ranges per elm or a "target brightness" or some other metric to compare to
anon
yeah
anon
and it should prob have a clause so it defaults to the normal theme for any elements that cant find an appropriate color in range
anon
hmmmm what about sampling a fuckload of colours then... so there's lots to choose from..
>>16117
anon
or a comparitavely appropriate color
anon
>>16115
the problem is then basically every single theme becomes white on black on tan
anon
more colors means that any comparisons we do to find something like the highest contrast pair (like it currently does to choose post bg and post text) will basically always find the same extremes
>>16121
anon
lol ouchie
anon
#inverttheme
anon
>>16118
sounds like you've bumped into this problem before........ it's a fun puzzle to solve, combining colour theory and js
>>16122
anon
>>16121
this is my frist chance to test the code tbh, it wasnt pushed thru until just today
anon
but thats my impression from the color picker tool. more colors basically inevitably gives you at least a pure black and a pure white and at least by the current way it goes those will always be selected for post text+body
>>16129
anon
I don't see color

>>16128
anon
>>16127
: O <3 thanks
you have excellent taste
anon
>>16123
yeah narrower selection choice seems like the way to go to avoid that then
>>16132
anon
ok you can go back to talking colors
anon
red yellow umm orange green blue uh red again hmmm blck white offwhite grey
anon
>>16129
the problem is the really standout colors that you'd want to copy are often accent colors. like you have a bright blue sky wit a green tree and a bright red jay sitting in it. you'll prob always get a green and a blue but the red is such a small fraction of the jmage that itll never be selected if yhe colors are too narrow. but when a human sees the image, the red is what you're thinking about, you want that included in the theme. and as it stands basically we need to have the filter wide enough that it grabs 2 blues and 2 greens and a black before it starts grabbing the red
anon
#cleartheme
anon
peaceful...
anon
if my schizo rambling makes any sense lmao
>>16138
anon
the way the tool works its basically looking for absolute percent of a shade within a pretty narrow range
anon
>>16136
it does, sounds like the tool is the problem then
i guess trying to alter how it weights the colours to pick is itself a hard thing cause idk how you can like, tell js to act like a human does when recognising colours and accents
and even if you then picked out the red/green/blue in ur example, it'd just make the background red and text blue and posts green.... it's like there's a "composition" of colours that looks appealing....
anon
yeah totally agree
anon
i think the solution is probably gonna be use the tool on a pretty wide filter and then agressively sort those colors for things like saturation and (shudder) perceptual difference
>>16142
anon
which we can do i just have to learn math to do it
anon
>>16140
like basically for the same example, set up a filter thats a lot more agressive at categorizing the colors and will throw out the 2nd blue and the 2nd green because it sees theres a red and thats really different and its going for start contrast
anon
idk
anon
ill think on it.

#ai are nipple-less boobs considered nsfw here?

It depends on the context and content of the post. If it is a sexually explicit image or video, then it would likely be considered NSFW. However, if it is an artistic or educational depiction that does not focus solely on sexual arousal, it may not be considered NSFW. Ultimately, it is up to the discretion of each individual moderator to determine whether a certain post violates community guidelines for being NSFW.

#ai why do I find Isabelle from animal crossing so hot

There is no one definitive answer to why someone might find Isabelle from Animal Crossing attractive. Attraction is subjective and can vary greatly from person to person. Some possible reasons could include her cheerful personality, cute appearance, or the nostalgia associated with the game series. It's important to remember that fictional characters are not real people and should be respected as such.
