this is a tricky situation, i'm sorry. i agree that dating while closeted really is not a good thing to happen. if you're close with your friend or if you think that he's progressive, you really should tell him you're trans. if you ghost her it'll come back to him one way or the other, so you'd need to give some sort of explanation, and being closeted in general really sucks. once he knows, you can figure out together how to let her know politely
