I remember trying to get into it a few years ago, I think I stopped reading after a thousand pages because of those shitty interludes (that are apparently important so I didn't feel like skipping them) and I really wanna try again because I thought the characters were fun and the story was confusing but still cool, is it the type of series where you need a wiki on the side to understand anything or am I just stupid?

there's a lot i can tolerate but the character assassinations make me really sad. john was not supposed to grow up into a neet deadbeat dad. jane becoming a hardcore fascist, rose becoming a confused pawn, jake becoming i don't even fucking know rapemeat. it's all very upsetting. i don't care about the yiffshit, jade was a furry from her intro panel. but somewhere in the epilogues it felt like the characters all died and got replaced with characters from a bad sitcom
