「Transhumanist body modification」

Surprise! During your lifetime, the singularity happens, and the ASI machine goddess is super duper aligned. The world is now a fully automated luxury communist utopia, and you have complete and utter morphological freedom to become whoever you want and do whatever you want. How do you modify yourself?

For me, I would start by making myself immortal. No more aging, no more cancer, and I want my brain to be backed up to a remote server that interfaces with my body from afar so if I explode I can just build a new identical body, good as new. I'd also make myself immune to pain and suffering, more muscular, and I'd enhance my sense of pleasure so that everything felt more exciting, interesting, and pleasurable. I want my baseline experience to be extremely happy, as if I were constantly on MDMA, with diverse information-sensitive gradients of bliss replacing pain as a danger signal. I'd also increase my IQ and give myself more stamina.

What about you?

I love rarity, but I would never delude myself into believing an escapist simulation is real for her sake
anon
i don't really know if i would do anything major. obviously all the baseline stuff most people would get like immortality and maxed out intelligence and reduced need for sleep or whatever

a bit of light wireheading for sure but nothing too crazy
anon
id make myself look like ginko from mushishi

i'm imagining spreading my awareness out, moving away from single embodiment. i'd probably keep most core computation in a primary ~humanoid body (and also use it for social stuff), at least at first, but also have lots of small drones acting as sensors/manipulators. i'm kind of thinking of the sensory stuff taylor does with her bugs in worm, but i suspect a lot of that ends up being unnecessary in developed spaces post-singularity. the built environment's just going to be full of sensors anyone with a BCI can tap into and everything will have a direct mental interface available. still would be really, really fun to head out into the wilderness and just take it all in with hyper-acute senses, including ones i don't have yet, from multiple perspectives simultaneously. my core body would be small, like outside adult human norms small. i'd want to have functional wings while keeping the humanoid form, maybe end up about the mass and wingspan of an eagle. obviously wanting to fly and still look/feel "organic" but not just going full bird is going to impose some weird design constraints, but superintelligence can probably handle it.
i don't think i'd give up pain entirely or start messing with my baseline happiness levels. i want my migraines gone, but pain at normal levels doesn't bother me that much. i'd want to be as smart as i can, but really what i'd want is to be smart enough to actually be a relevant part of civilization and not just a pampered pet. i don't know if the mechanics of superintelligence will turn out to allow that or not, but i hope they do.

I can't tell if the Rarity image is AI or not and its somewhat bothering me.

I want complete control of my brain. In the sense that if I decide something, my brain aligns with that. For example, I could decide "i love the taste of raw onion" and that would be true. I want total perfect recall. I just want a perfect mind, so I can really apply my beliefs and morals in how I live my life instead of constantly battling the inherent weakness that is a core part of the human condition.

I don't know about perfect recall, but I'm pretty sure you can do the onion thing with hypnosis.

i dont think hypnosis is reall
SadChan🍉🍉
i think u have to believe its real for it to work

If you have bad concentration or ADHD it's harder to start with. If you keep trying to focus and keep doing hypnosis, it gets easier to go into a trance. "You have to believe it's real" is somewhat true. It's not difficult to make yourself believe in it.

I like to shred baked potatoes and fry it. I don't know if this constitutes a hash brown or a mashed potatoes but it's tasty.

aren't you afraid of your intrusive thoughts?

I'd fulfill my furfag fantasies obviously

...i probably wouldn’t. most likely using some kind of twisted logic that, somehow, no matter how irrational it might be, that i'm "depriving" someone else of the same opportunity. if nothing else i'd just want to be useful, somehow
anon
but cute and girly
anon
obviously become immortal and some muscles and stuff, but I don't really want to talk about that stuff because it's boring and generic. aside from the basic uncontroversial perks and looking how you want, the more unique one is I'd want to remove my libido entirely
anon
I want a tail.
