i always wonder about the construction of it biologically
like are these hidden bridges, are there separate organelles within my electrical network that disconnect and reconnect again, i wanna know the deets of how this all works

it's weird sometimes the worst shit that happens to you in life isn't the stuff that hurts the most. sometimes the stuff that messes you up isn't like the extreme violent stuff. it's weird. there's some insane violence I've suffered that doesn't really come up as something that hurts to think about

i think for me it's mostly verbal interactions. i went through bad bad stuff as a child too and it's like, just there, in a spreadsheet in my brain for things to avoid being awkward about and make jokes about if i'm very brave
but it doesn't hurt
but then like i remember some 2 second conversation from 15 years ago that still devastates me

land value tax is a misnomer. it's not a levy on private property because land is not and cannot be private property or capital.

we didn't even HAVE an income tax in america at all until woodrow wilson

even jefferson was against slavery on paper
and their writings are those of a whole other america than the one they built. the american dream is in those essays
anon
>>363574
actaully prisons were invented by pirates first who needed somewhere to put the other pirates they caught they would lock them up in sand holes usually until the king came and said we need them for now and thats hwo jail started
also cops originally were invented to catch clouds that ran from farms
usually they had nets
>>363583
davesprite

there are lots of proto prisons. rome had a hellish hole they threw the soon to be executed into for holding cell, and sometimes used as a life sentence prison.

the key thing i want to get at is that you're wrong to insist that because might makes the de facto right deprives natural rights of their weight
no, the fantasy state of nature thing is not true. but adhering to basic moral law centered on individual liberty is just the only way to build a non-tyrannical state

i think you're missing the bigger picture though
the existence of natural rights isnt disproven by force but it also isnt proven by ideals
"individual liberty" sounds noble but it's still just a fragile arrangement tolerated by whoever can overthrow it and chooses not to
saying this is the only way to build a non tyrannical state just ignores the fact that states are built on force first and justify it later
mincarchism maxmilaism whatever label you want is all just dressing up power dynamics

you misunderstand me. i am not saying we be like china or the ussr with a bunch of glorious on paper rights that don't exist.
i am saying, yes, we live in a world ruled by might and guile and rhetoric. but the correct response to this is to weaponize the tools of the tyrant towards truth. you build a state that is riddled with incentives making the greedy fucks act in prosocial ways and that is set upon foundational laws of natural right that are enforced above the democratic process itself
>>363645

>>363640
you're still stuck in a framework that centers individual ownership as sacred which is the root of the problem
truth isnt upheld by rigging incentives inside a broken system - its enforced through the centralization of authority and the abolition of private property entirely
the only way to guarantee rights is to eliminate the conditiosn that create inequality in the first place not to patchwork them with "foundational laws" that can be interpreted or ignore by whoever has the most leverage at the moment
the state must be absolute in this or it will rot from the inside exactly like every failed liberal experiment has
faye
is it merit?

labor input and process of exchange
that's why land cannot be property like, tautologically as well as functionally
it is not made and cannot be owned without a state apparatus to enforce the claim around the landlord
faye
what if someone works really hard but they nothing :( do they not deserve something?

if their labor produces no value then no you just get the satisfaction of a job poorly done
faye
how do you determine value?
>>363652
davesprite
>>363651
i don't. that's a subjective socially altered metric balanced between utility and desire
faye
but what if someone has stuff but society decides their stuff no longer has value

otherwise nothing
like if the chair i'm sitting in becomes worthless to anyone but me suddenly, i am still able to use it myself in whatever way suits me
>>363657

what if you make chairs but after you sell a bajillion chairs and you have a huge surplus of stuff they all break because you made them wrong, is the value still there? is there still value in the item? Do you deserve those items?
