idr the specifics but thorium reactors are just able to be built much smaller. they're incapable of melting down and most of the size of a nuclear reactor is in its cooling. you can build a small one with a steam loop and a smaller fuel chamber in like, a garage, it just destroys the neighborhood if it melts down. but a thorium one wouldn't have that risk, so it could just bolt onto a home at the size of like, a small room probably.
