man this show is sooo weird
it's peak anime in all the worst most cringe ways but under the surface it's also kind of the best anime and a really great story about the human soul
i think maybe there is one form of ideal interaction with the medium of anime that would be

the thing is that dungeon meshi is just an anime, however good
gurren lagann is all traditional anime with zero fear of being what those are at the core
it's like marvel movies but with an actual core behind it, pure pastiche garbage
dungeon meshi like all other shows sits in the spectrum where it wants to have it both ways
gurren lagann is just the worst anime, and forces you to infer the best story, which it placed between the lines
which is why it's a good single anime for someone who will never watch another anime
