lot of stories in it about how the admins would get letters often about how the message board had saved their life, and they'd never known there was anyone else like them, back in the 80s for many people in rural areas who wouldn't meet openly gay people, like them

a_lilian is cool bc they basically did this though use computer to speak and
very sweet n also good writer in a lot of their longer videos, so much like

very dissect able writing, I think its particularly such with a vid they made called masking or smth, I forget as its not one I rewatch often

they went through the experience though of the cyber body horror of Microsoft changing the voice they used for years for TTS, and the one they chose bc they identified with it and it became them, turned into a new voice that wasn't them at all
in large part bc MS threw AI into a bunch of their tools/products and even though was a free windows tts voice, it was gone
