likewise. i will say that i feel like shared reality is *already* dead lol. privately-owned news have been a terrible mistake. if you allow people to buy the media, and the media dictates what people think, and the people dictate the law, then that's just oligarchy. ai will make propaganda easier to do in a subtle way, at scale, but i lowkey think we're already dealing with an intractable problem.

as for workers, i am and was worried about this for a very long time. our society is not ready for more automation, idk.

it's something i worry about too. though more about students using chatgpt instead of learning. actually doing the work is what makes school worthwhile! memorizing things you'll forget so you develop your ability to reason along the way. if you just skip that then you are in essence skipping your education. idk. maybe i'm a grumpy old boomer now haha but it seems different from prior moral panics or whatever.
