like. i've tried marbling cookies before by mixing cocoa powder with a portion of the dough and artfully recombining them after but i think i didn't use enough cocoa powder to get the color to stick out. idk

ostensibly you use loads of solid-at-room-temperature-fat so that the dough partially "melts" when you bake it and spreads out, and that then is something you can tune to adjust the qualities of the cookie
