doing things like trying to have

one, music playing that's noise for focus etc n such
using a pomodoro timer can help for a good few people, basically it's just going for 15-25 ish min then doing 5-10 min break and back and fourth
having some kind of non intrusive like fidget esc thing to have the stimulation or such
and also taking out the energy or focusing for reading can be better done for a lot of peeps by taking even minor notes or marking up stuff to actively interact w the text, whether on paper w highlighters or notebook etc or using smth like Okular to markup document/pdfs of them

also, any sort of stimulant will generally improve this quite a bit, especially if during the peak of it's effects; even if just caffeine, it can be helpful
though instant release adhd meds can be of massive help for these sudden focus needs, non stimulant meds like buproprion can also be of help for this and (i did actually get a script but havent taken yet) instant release as well, without it being adderall or a more gen stim

it's more complicated than that but it doesnt work in the same way

but yeh it's more of a errr

light, general focus thing, and can be calming instead of incredibly stimulating, so it doesnt feel like it works in the way it's conceptualized by most people

having the coping mechanisms and ability to focus w/o meds before you start or use regularly can be helpful but also it's often good to still have meds around as it's like

depending on how much it affects you, or if you havent experienced stim meds at all, it can be of good use

yeh, some will just be willing or work to get stimulants w/o a bunch of stuff but i find it depends a lot idk
but buproprion is a med that's sort of like an antidepressant in how it works but works on uptake for norepinephrine and other stuff i believe (it's been a while) and that can help quite a bit, while also being an effective antidepressant as well as weirdly a drug for quitting nicotine
