Im sure vedgtables and deli meats are pretty comparable but you will also have like import foods from all over the world, german, mexican, japanese products just on the shelves. the variety is very big, sauces, spices and such. and most will have fish markets and such. our access to import goods is insanely good.

I think a big misconception that foreigners have about america is viewing it as a monolith. like america is INSANELY diverse, as diverse as all of europe is. the culture and social norms of like rural oklahoma are just another country entirely from maine. we are so big, so diverse in biome and geography and have such a diversity of specialized economies that its really more like a conglomeration of different countries than people who arent americans or even americans themselves think.

if you live in a place like new york you wont have to worry about the government infringing on your rights and such. but if you live in texas you cant even get an abortion now. the difference between the states is really big.

when the dust bowl/great depression/wwII happened back to back times got really hard and that built a huge amount of social solidarity, class conciousness and a desire to make things better. americans are REALLY good at reacting to disasters when doom and death is on the line.

so I think the best case scenario is actually massive environmental disaster, financial ruin and maybe a bit of global war and death and destruction and then finally people will be so dispossessed and unhappy they have to turn to a better form of government to get things running agian.

under Biden there was actually a bunch of lawsuits by the federal government against real estate companies that exist purely for land owners to price fix. essentially the reccomend how much rent you should charge for your property and let you see what all the other renters in network are charging. that way if the price starts going up you can know to raise your price. but problem is the price NEVER goes down so all that happened was the company was used by real estate monopolies to trick independent landlords into raising their prices so they dont compete with them.
