okay but i have a card game idea i wanna capture the magic of yugioh combo without the stupid length and rigidity every time, the mtg fights on the stack without the 10 fucking turns of land pass first and the quick simplicity of pokemon tcgp but more interaction

and i think i got an idea for it idk

seems like a really fun design space

Theres a bunch of established tropes that have like 20 years of testing to prove how they work and how they fail. and basically infinite combinations of how you could put them together

my basic idea is that every card has "flash" basically and the whole game is played on the stack, instead of turns you just pass priority to start a new stack, you only draw cards if two stacks are passed with no play, and then both players draw at the same time

So like p1 goes first, gets prio to start a stack, p2 can respond, p1 can respond to the response, etc etc. until it fully resolved

then p2 has prio to start a new stack, repeat the whole sequence

Only if both players dont start a stack in a row, then both draw

and you win just by having a certain number of power of creatures on board theres no actual combat

I think it would go really fast and hopefully feel like the fun fights you get on like turn 9 of a control/tempo mirror in mtg

also no mana resource bc thats lame and artificially slows down games
