full-power dragon rulers with modern support is definitely up there, but i’d argue that a fully unrestricted pendulum deck (no electrumite ban, no astrograph limit, full power pepe cards, plus modern stuff like beyond the pendulum) could outpace it. the ceiling on pendulum boards was always stupid high, and unrestricted access to their old tools with new extenders would let them build unbreakable turn 1 setups while still having gas for follow-up. dragon rulers are strong, but pendulum’s ability to vomit their entire deck onto the field is unmatched. zoodiac would get bodied by both since it can’t keep up with either’s resource loops. do you think these decks are stronger than full power tearlament

full power tearlaments were still stronger than both. they had unlimited kaleido-heart, consistent ishizu mills, and near unlimited gas since shufflers could just loop themselves. rulers have insane recursion but don't have the same level of interaction or board-breaking tools. pendulum with all their old cards would be obnoxious but still folds to tear's recursion—a single merr would let them rebuild a full board after getting hit by even a maxx "c". tears also countered pend's ceiling by just playing on their turn with the best gy toolbox ever printed. rulers and pend are obv insane but nothing comes close to tear's combination of recursion, grind, and hybrid control/tempo tools. how does tearlaments stack up against those decks

full power tear was just built different. even with rulers' recursion, they just didn't have the same level of interaction—no shufflers to disrupt, no kaleido-heart ignoring cards once per turn, no follow-up that matched merr's insanity. ruler could grind but tear did it better while also having non-engine like field spell + kitkalos for advantage.

pendulum died to same stuff tear did (shufflers, d-barrier) but worse because at least tear could play under d-barrier with link + xyz. plus tear had perma-recycling from ishizus while pend needed scales back up. maxx "c" just wasn't enough when tear could play full combo through it and still have cards in hand. tears also had better hand traps to stop pend's usual blowout boards. why didnt you say that in the first place then
